This one-off masterclass is dedicated to the subtle craft of refinement — the delicate finishing cuts and fine details that transform a carved spoon from good to exceptional. Working under the guidance of Alex Finberg, you’ll deepen your understanding of straight knife control, bevel pressure, carving angles, and techniques to achieve crisp, clean finishes straight from the knife — no sanding required.
Through demonstrations, guided practice, and one-to-one feedback, you’ll learn how to bring precision, flow, and confidence to your finishing work. You’ll also explore carving, facets, and other techniques that add texture, contrast, and individuality to your spoons. Perfect for those with some carving experience, this day is about slowing down, sharpening your eye, and mastering the quiet details that define great craftsmanship.
Why not join us for a double bill of carving Swedish Spoons in the morning?!
