Step into the timeless world of Scandinavian woodcraft and spend a full day carving your own Swedish slöjd spoon — a simple, elegant design rooted in centuries of Nordic craft tradition. Under the expert guidance of Alex Finberg, you’ll learn how to shape and refine a spoon that balances form, function, and beauty — from the first axe cuts to the final knife strokes.
This workshop goes beyond the basics, focusing on design, proportion, and fine knife work. You’ll explore what makes a Swedish spoon so distinctive — clean lines, graceful curves, and the philosophy of slöjd: making useful things beautifully, with purpose and care. Working with freshly cut green wood in the peaceful setting of The Orchard Studio, you’ll experience the quiet satisfaction of traditional handcraft, slow attention, and skillful simplicity.
