Woodcraft for Wellbeing Sessions
Come and carve a wooden spoon! We will use simple hand tools and age old techniques to carve wooden spoons from a log to a finished spoon. There is something extremely satisfying about carving and then eating with a wooden spoon! We will look at cooking spoons and eating spoons, safe axe techniques, knife carving and finishes.

Format of The Day
09:30am - Arrival, Introductions

09:45 am - Guided intro and welcome to the woodland

10:00am - Carving Session

12:30pm - Finish

Approach to Learning
My approach to running workshops is to make them as enjoyable and as accessible as possible. Together as a group we create a positive learning environment where there is no such thing as a stupid question(!) and everyone is put at ease to relax into and enjoy the day.

There is a wonderfully meditative state which can be found when carving wood which can be quite addictive! You'll come away with the opportunity to take away all the tools, skills and resources needed to carry on carving at home.

Venue
The venue is located in the beautiful North Woods on the Dartington Estate, near Totnes Devon. The venue has a parachuted area, fire pit and woodland carving area, and for inclement weather an indoor 'nest' space with a woodburner

The venue is wheelchair accessible - please let us know if you are coming via wheelchair and we can direct and assist you

A Map can be found here. Directions can be found here

We encourage you to leave your car at home if you can, but if you do drive please explore our parking map below. Click the parking icons for descriptions and details about each of the suggested parking locations. Parking is limited in the surrounding area and we ask you to please be considerate of local residents. Cycling is the best way to get to us – The Glade is located just off of National Cycle Route 2. However you choose to travel to us, The Glade experience begins the moment you step foot in the woods and we invite you to immerse yourself fully in it.
