Tool Sharpening Workshop
Sharpening is not a dark art! This workshop will teach you how to begin mastering sharpening spoon carving and green wood work tools. We will learn to sharpen a carving knife, hook knife, and an axe. I will provide you with the knowledge, skills and confidence to begin sharpening and maintaining your tools at home

I break down each aspect into simple, repeatable steps, and provide everyone with a sharpening stone and carving knife which you can practice on during the workshop, and at home.

This course is recommended for complete beginners who have never sharpened their kitchen knives through to people who have given sharpening a go but are stuck in a rut. It is immensely empowering learning how to get a sharp edge on your tools come and give it a go!

Approach to Learning
My approach to running workshops is to make them as enjoyable and as accessible as possible. Together as a group we create a positive learning environment where there is no such thing as a stupid question(!) and everyone is put at ease to relax into and enjoy the day.

Many folks have been put off sharpening having felt intimated by the prospect of making a tool blunter rather than sharper! This workshop will free you up to make mistakes and then learn how to rectify them!

Venue
Our venue is located at Lower Sharpham Barn by the edge of the River Dart, home to Ambios and a large scale re-wilding project with some of the most stunning views in the South of England!

The venue is best navigated to via what3words (professed.lions.scoop) as it can be tricky to find for the first time. Please allow an additional 5 minutes to get down the track for the first time
