Starry Night Spoon ~ I
Starry Night Spoon
Hand carved with Axe & Knife
Sourced from Beech grown in Callington
Carved in South Devon, UK
Finished with Tung Oil
Starry Night Spoon:
A spoon to remind us of our place within the cosmos and the wonders of gazing up at the dark blue of a star studded night sky.
The spoon has been finished with deep blue milk paint and tung oil
Pictured is its twin spoon also available - they make a great pair!
This Beech spoon was carved from a tree which was growing next to Callington Fire Station in Devon. The tree had become too large and dangerous so had to be take down. It has provided a lot of beautiful wood for treen
This spoon is designed to be eaten with and well used - don't be afraid to use it on a daily basis! The only thing to avoid is putting it in the dishwasher, or leaving it to soak in the washing up bowl.
I always make sure my spoons are bone dry before putting them away in the drawer.
To give the spoon a new lease of life from time to time you can add a coat of flax oil, walnut oil (careful of nut allergies) or linseed oil, but this is not essential.
*The spoon you receive will be the exact shape and finish but the grain and colours may be slightly different from the photo.
