Introducing the Hand-Forged Froe, a robust and efficient tool for splitting logs & cleaving billets for spooncarving and woodcraft.
The Froe is hand-forged from a single piece of steel 52100 steel, with a premium Ash handle.
Froes are used in combination with wooden mallets to split logs of green or seasoned timber, to make spoon billets, boards, shingles, or kindling; they are in many ways safer and more controlled to use than hatchets or splitting mauls
Comfort and ergonomic design.
The handle is polished and coated with natural linseed oil, which provides a comfortable and secure grip for both right- and left-handers.
