From Spalted Beech Wood  
Carved in South Devon, UK 
Finished with Linseed Oil & Deep Blue Milk Paint 

Baked Shovel Spoon:
Baked shovel spoon with scalloped bowl, a perfect spoon for frying and serving. The leading edge has been chamfered and left thick to ensure this spoon can go the distance.

The baked golden brown finishes shows up the grain in this piece of Beech wood wonderfully.

This Beech spoon was carved from a tree which was growing next to Callington Fire Station in Devon. The tree had become too large and dangerous so had to be take down. It has provided a lot of beautiful wood for treen

Spoon Care:
This spoon is designed to be cooked with and well used - don't be afraid to use it on a daily basis! The only thing to avoid is putting it in the dishwasher, or leaving it to soak in the washing up bowl.

I always make sure my spoons are bone dry before putting them away in the drawer.

To give the spoon a new lease of life from time to time you can add a coat of Tung oil, flax oil, walnut oil (careful of nut allergies) or linseed oil, but this is not essential.
