XL Shovel Spoon:
Something of a workhorse this is the largest shovel spoon I have ever carved! Perfect for caterers and feast makers, this spoon makes a robust frying utensil for large dishes

The tiger eye pattern of the spalted beech is rather striking.

This Beech spoon was carved from a tree which was growing next to Callington Fire Station in Devon. The tree had become too large and dangerous so had to be take down. It has provided a lot of beautiful wood for treen

Spoon Care:
This spoon is designed to be cooked with and well used - don't be afraid to use it on a daily basis! The only thing to avoid is putting it in the dishwasher, or leaving it to soak in the washing up bowl.

I always make sure my spoons are bone dry before putting them away in the drawer.

To give the spoon a new lease of life from time to time you can add a coat of Tung oil, flax oil, walnut oil (careful of nut allergies) or linseed oil, but this is not essential.
