Wooden Spreader Knife
A beautiful, simple wooden spreader knife hand-carved with axe and knife from sustainably cut Hazel wood.
The knife has been carved with a faceted handle which has been coated with deep blue milk paint, a non toxic and 100 percent food safe paint.
These knives are perfect for spreading anything from cake mixture to jam, butter, vegan spreads, soft cheeses and your condiments of choice. The added bonus with a wooden spreader is when scraping the bottom of a container you won't end up with plastic particles in your food.
These spreaders make great gifts and a lovely addition to your table top. Pair it with a Beech wood chopping board for a perfect rustic combo.
Each spreader is hand carved and may vary slightly from those photographed
Where Did My Spreader Grow?!
These spreaders are carved from coppiced Hazel wood grown locally in Devon, UK. Coppicing is a traditional form of woodland management that has shaped many of the semi-natural woodlands in the UK. Periodic cutting actually prolongs the life of the tree and provides straight poles for all manner of craft and building projects, from bean poles, to hurdles, to jam spreaders
Spreader Care:
This spreader is designed to be cooked with and well used - don't be afraid to use it on a daily basis! The only thing to avoid is putting it in the dishwasher, or leaving it to soak in the washing up bowl.
Milk paint bonds incredibly well with wood, over time the handle will develop a slight patina which will add to its rustic charm
