Half Term Whittling Workshop 
Join us for a half term Whittling workshop where we'll choose from a range of suitable whittling projects to help develop your child's whittling skills. Skills taught will include safe knife grips, safe and effective carving techniques, knife safety, listening and fine motor skills.

Learners will choose from a range of projects, from a skulk of foxes, to butter spreaders, woodland creatures and magic wands. Creative expression will be encouraged, and we will work in a learner focussed way, taking into account a range of carving abilities.

The site is a beautiful forest school site on private land, it has a cabin for inclement weather, outdoor shelter with fire pit and a compost loo. It is safe and secure and secluded - in fact it takes some finding - a map and dropped pin will be provided!

This workshop is suitable for complete beginners and intermediate carvers over the age of 6. 

Pricing

About Alex
Alex is a woodcarver with lots of experience teaching children and adults how to safely and effectively whittle. He works teaching children with special education needs at a local forest school and teaches a range of learners from 1:1 sessions to groups.

He holds the following qualifications:

• Forest School Leader 
• Safeguarding Level 3 & Special Education Needs
• Outdoor & Paediatric First Aid 
• Enhanced DBS
